Reunited

Celebrating my Little's Birthday

My little (sorority) sister, tGa, is 21!! I've been waiting for this day for what seems like forever. tGa had to transfer schools last year to continue her nursing degree, and I have been absolutely miserable without my best friend. I've been planning on doing something special for her birthday for a while now, so I surprised her by taking a road trip to her town & showing up at her house (:

It was so worth the drive. Not only did I get to spend the afternoon with my best friend, but I also got to participate in a special first with her..
The cashier wasn't quite sure what to do when we asked to borrow the sign haha.

I wanted to give her something special, so to celebrate I made her a paddle in her favorite colors, coral & navy!

I'm so thankful that I got to spend the day with her!  I had to leave before it got too dark (icy roads=worried parents) but it was well worth the drive (: Love you T!!

Photo Challenge

I came across this photo challenge for January 2014 on the blog Wanderlust & Coffee, & I'm going to do it as well! It looks like a fun one, so I'm excited to do a daily post for this next month.

Thank you, Sydney, for the idea! I don't find many other people who share my name (or spell it the same way!) so I knew I had to do this one (:

Blessed

This holiday season, I was reminded of how nice it is to get away from it all. I've been spending time at my family's cabin in the woods and I'm so grateful for the time together, relaxation, & wonderful food. Here are a few of my favorite memories in the past few weeks of holiday events, as well as some highlights of my Christmas!

I love an excuse to wear holiday dresses! This was before my sorority's annual Christmas dinner with some of my sisters. We stopped by our favorite fraternity before it started.

This was at said fraternity a few days later & before the Christmas Stroll, an event our downtown hosts on Main Street every year with great food, drinks, & fun booths! It was -20 degrees (yes, Fahrenheit) that night so we didn't last long before taking shelter inside.

One of my best friends attends a different college than I do, but she's home for break! I'm so thankful she's back in town & that I get to spend time with her for a few more weeks.

The view out our front windows Christmas morning (reflection of the fireplace and candles included).

My black lab with his adorable plaid bow that I want to use for some kind of craft or Christmas decor next year

Did y'all do anything fun this holiday season or attend any festive events?

I hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas with your family & friends! Look for a post in the next couple weeks about some of my favorite gifts that I gave & received.

Confessions of a Craftaholic

My Pinterest obsession is responsible for the majority of the crafts I do (or attempt). Here are some ideas that I've been loving lately..

This canvas reminds me of Kate Spade (and my background).

Printed paper napkins would be the most adorable addition to any event, sorority or otherwise.

I really want to try painting wine glasses, and I love the idea of a monogrammed candle holder.

I've recently ordered two of these large monograms, one for myself & one for my roommate. I'll definitely be using this as inspiration for how I paint & hang them!

I'll make sure to update y'all if I create any of these!

Did you make anything for the holidays? Have you attempted (or succeeded) at any Pinterest crafts?

New Beginnings

Welcome to my blog!

I'm a senior in college, a sorority girl, and a lover of classic style and fun design. I spend too much time on Pinterest and not enough time appreciating the small things, which is what I'm hoping my new blog will help me do!

Join me as I chronicle my last semester of college & what comes next-- preparing for graduate school applications, figuring out how the "real world" works, & finding an excuse to craft every step of the way.

A few things I love (besides the obvious peonies and pearls): monograms, navy blue, anything preppy, celebrations that involve champagne, my small hometown, & happy endings.

Thanks for taking the time to read & follow!
